Dear FMHCA Members,
It is my pleasure to announce that Batia Gold has been awarded the Pat Hogan Scholarship. Batia is presently attending Florida Gulf Coast University studying for her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She will receive a check in the amount of $1,000.00 from the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association to be applied towards her education.
Batia was one of many student member applicants for the annual scholarship named after a long time friend and supporter of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. Batia was selected for her strong experience and commitment to the profession of mental health counseling . In addition to maintaining a high GPA and being named to the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society, she works full time as a mental health clinician with Lee Mental Health in Fort Myers, Florida. She serves as the Student Representative to the Board of FMHCA and the Chairperson of the Behavioral Health Community Round Table. She is also a student member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association and FCA.
Congratulations to Batia for receiving this scholarship and to the other applicants who also exhibited academic proficiency, organizational involvement and positive career goals that will ultimately benefit the clients and community that they will serve as Licensed Mental Health Counselors.
Stay tuned for exciting developments on services soon to be offered to members on our FMHCA website, as well as the progress being made for members by our new Executive Director, Alex Golden.
Sincerely,
George Drobinski, LMHC
President
